Anne Corder Recruitment has always been proud to engage not only with the business community but also the wider community. We strive to be ethical and giving with clients, candidates, suppliers, and other stakeholders. We are also conscious of the effect we have on the environment – hence our commitment to a paperless office.
The ACR calendar is littered with charitable events to support local good causes. Anne’s personal involvement with the Peterborough Business Support Group of the NSPCC goes back many years and as a business we have sponsored events; attended events and fund raised on a regular basis.
We have also supported Sue Ryder Care by taking part in the midnight walks and the annual ACR Bake-Off in aid of Red Nose Day always raises a few laughs and valuable contributions.
We’ve also backed Kidney Research by turning purple; Breast Cancer Care by turning pink; and Comic Relief by turning red. And we donated work clothes to a charity designed to help women the tools and clothes to get back into the workplace.
Then of course, there is the annual Santa Fun Run to support the Rotary Club where ACR has traditionally supplied mulled wine and mince pies to hundreds of running Santas!
ACR has historically supported both Peterborough Regional College and New College Stamford; been instrumental in helping drive the Young Enterprise scheme in Peterborough for many years; and attended sixth form career fairs and offered a wide range of guidance and counselling sessions to young people.
Our commitment to the environment began long before ‘green’ became a business buzzword. Our efforts have since secured us a place at the forefront of eco-innovation both within the geographic area and also within our sector.
We believe our green credentials are second to none. Our paperless office project transformed the way we operate and won us international acclaim and a Green Apple Award. The project was adopted as a blueprint for others to copy and has been the springboard to further operational innovations.
Our entire accounts system is now accessed through a secured, online system. Clients and candidates can access bespoke information through dedicated and protected webpages with no need for printing and posting.
Our involvement with Peterborough Environment City Trust has been equally as beneficial. We are one of a select few businesses to have been presented with a prestigious Great Green Star Award in consecutive years. These reward those companies which the auditors feel have embedded an eco-policy into the fabric of their business.
PECT operates a number of events throughout the year which ACR’s dedicated green champions ensure the whole office buys into. We reuse or recycle virtually all of our waste; lights get switched off; heating is switched down; junk mail has been eliminated; cling wrapped sandwiches are a thing of the past.
With such high eco-standards and a commitment to adhere to best practice in all we do, it became imperative for us to seek partnerships with like-minded businesses.
We are pleased to have secured local suppliers of ethically and responsibly sourced products which share our commitment to the environment.
Our team drinks Fairtrade tea and coffee, cleaning products are environmentally friendly, the minimal paper and packaging we used is recycled and recyclable.
When the completion of our paperless office project saw filing cabinets, box files and paper files become obsolete we gave them away to local charities and schools.
