When AB Agri opened a customer service centre in Peterborough, the animal feeds specialists commissioned ACR to help recruit 18 key positions – from administrators to managers.

The deadline was tight – the first intake was required to start within a month with staggered start dates for the remainder over the following six weeks.

The efficiency of our computerised systems meant potential candidates already on our database could be identified immediately.

Tried and tested job sites were trawled for the right calibre of applicants. It was decided previously screened candidates would be introduced to the client through a series of recruitment events.

Within two days, our PR and marketing agency secured editorial in relevant publications and websites and a radio interview about the recruitment events.

Banners and posters were designed, printed and put in place near the client’s site on a busy business park within days. These activities boosted potential candidate numbers.

The campaign was advertised on websites and we were able to offer our advertising, design and copy experience to help drive the campaign forward. Each of the 266 applicants were assessed and, where appropriate, telephone screened, resulting in 54 face to face interviews during three open events.

ACR staff managed the candidates, set up appointments, fielded calls and provided information and feedback.

As the first wave of new starters began, with post placement support from ACR, the recruitment process continued with all positions filled within the time frame.

Regular progress reports were followed by a bespoke management report following the final contract signing. An ongoing relationship is now in place with AB Agri, with our client contacts able to access the full range of our added value services.
