In support of the leadership team and CDC manager you will responsible for ensuring the business operates in a safe and secure environment - you will need to be expert on all legislation relating to Health & Safety and ensure these are reflected and embodied in the Group Risk Manual and H&S operating procedures. You will take charge of driving a safety-first culture and identify areas of risk and ensure that a course of corrective action is taken, identify lessons learned and put in place training and changes to operating process to eliminate any further risk in this area. You will be IOSH or NEBOSH qualified.
You will be comfortable in a leadership role and used to influencing the senior management team. Due to the scale and scope of the organisation, you will be an experienced HSE Manager with exposure to supporting business wide projects in areas outside of your expertise. Ideally you will come from a Retail environment but open to all sectors for candidates that can demonstrate the delivery of the HSE agenda in a continuous improvement environment. You will demonstrate that you are able to handle conflict and overcome objections and be adept at informing and developing others around you. You will be kept motivated, interested and challenged continuously both with the HSE agenda, development of your team and the contribution to the general management of the business.
