Working for a well-established, owner managed business enjoying significant growth, you will be joining the team as their Buyer.  The organisation works with one of the UK largest growing retailers and is set to continue to their growth into 2021 and beyond.  You will join in support of the two owners, and the account manager to ensure timely ordering of stock from their overseas contracted manufacturers to meet customer demand, maintain agreed inventory levels but minimising risk to the business by carrying too much stock.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analysing historical data to agree average weekly sales figures and establishing minimum inventory figures to meet key customer KPI of minimum of 16 weeks rolling stock availability over 600 SKUs
  • Placing orders with overseas contract manufacturers to ensure stock levels are maintained - factoring contracted lead times and potential seasonal and pandemic related challenges in moving freight
  • Engaging with your colleagues in the warehouse to ensure accurate reporting of stock availability
  • Running weekly reports to provide insight to the management team to support decision making and weekly reporting to the customers on KPIs and SLAs

As this is a small business the likelihood you will be asked on occasion to support other areas of the business - it is necessary for everyone to pitch in and help, including the owners so no room for ego.  You must be naturally inquisitive and want to fully understand the figures - therefore solid working knowledge of excel is a must.  Previous experience on Sage is highly desirable.  In return you will be joining a growing family organisation that values it's people - evidenced by the number of long serving employees within the business.

Based remotely outside Oakham so a driving licence and car is essential.
