Rutland’s Got (business) Talent, says Anne Corder

Anne Corder was delighted to review the very best businesses in Stamford and Rutland for the Rutland Pride Business Awards 2014.  She was part of a high-profile judging panel made up of Miranda Rock, Burghley House Director; Ian Leech, Chief Financial Officer of BGL Group and CEO of Coral Administration Services; business transformation consultant Ed Smiley-Jones; Brian Edwards, Managing Director of Swynford Consulting and Tony Worth, Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire.

The short listed businesses attended a glittering awards dinner at the Ladywood Estate near Oakham and the main speaker was David Ross, co- founder of Carphone Warehouse.

“It was great to see so many entrepreneurial people together and to celebrate the very best in business practice,” said Anne.  “It is always a privilege to hear the stories of how businesses start up and to see how they are flourishing.”

Category winners included Rutland Cycling, Barefoot Flooring, Amps Fine Wines, Anand Shoes and the Institute of Credit Management.  Business Person of the Year was Jacqui Kavanagh from Trinity Event Solutions.
